Content
  • Review & Awareness of Work Instruction WI-005
  • Guardrail SWMS
  • Marking the offset from the edge line for guardrail alignment & installation
  • Running the tape out along the marked offset points
  • Marking out the terminal post locations off the tape laid out
  • Marking out the post spacings using the mark out board
  • Laying out posts off the truck ready for installation
  • Setting up the crane to unload end terminal off truck to ground position
  • Operation of the crane
  • Performing a crane lift (A spotter is required and clear zone implemented)
  • Terminal packed opened and posts/components laid out
  • Unloading the post rammer
  • Unloading plant safely as per SBS Red Zone (10m clear in direction of travel)
  • Terminal posts being installed as per the product manual
  • Terminal posts installed to stringline
  • Terminal posts installed height and alignment
  • Terminal being put together to finished product
  • Posts being installed height as per the product manual
  • Setting the stringline to height for posts to be rammed to
  • Stringline set on post
  • Ramming posts in-between height posts to the stringline
  • Posts installed to the stringline
  • Getting tools and parts ready for hanging process while posts being rammed
  • Placing the slider bracket onto the post, ready for rail to be hung
  • Hanging the rail
  • Bolting the rail to the posts (tandem lift)
  • Lapping the rail correctly in accordance with the traffic direction
  • Spraying the tops of posts with Cold Gal Spray
  • Placing the splice bolts into the rail to be rattled up snug with the rail
  • Tightening up centre bolt and placing splice bolts into the w-beam
  • Installing delineators on the w-beam at 16m spacings
  • Finished barrier installation
Completion rules
  • All units must be completed
  • Leads to a certificate with a duration: 2 years
